Hello, my fluffy friends,

Holy cannoli, I am officially inundated with baby bunnies.

This week’s live began with the best of intentions. I had notes, a plan, and even a short lesson ready for anyone thinking about attending their first rabbit show. Of course, I also had boxes full of three-week-old Giant Angora babies hopping in every direction. Around here, the bunnies usually win.

Before baby-bunny playtime, I shared a simple message for new show people: just go.

You do not have to enter a rabbit the first time. Find an ARBA-sanctioned show, read the catalog, contact the show secretary, and go as a spectator. Introduce yourself, find the Angora people, bring a chair, and give yourself permission to watch and learn.

Once you have your feet wet, jump in and help. Angora exhibitors are usually carrying rabbits for one another, keeping track of the judging order, and helping at the tables. Just remember to ask before handling someone else’s rabbit.

Then we got to the really fluffy part.

I brought out several three-week-old litters and talked about temperament, early body type, white spotting, generation numbers, and what I am already seeing in my Chocolate Agouti project. It is much too early to make final decisions, but I cannot help getting excited when I see that lovely football-shaped body beginning to appear.

I also shared updates on the new Village Rabbit Barn, the M&M Merino yarn, Betty Chu’s wool heading to the mill, the Angora Royalty playing cards, and a pile of tie-dye Angora shirts that desperately need to be ironed and listed.

Village Elders, keep a close eye on our new classified ads section, “Village Elder’s Bunny Barn.” Every available rabbit will be listed there first, giving Village Elders the first opportunity to see what is available.

About one week later, any rabbits still available will be listed for the public. I will send out a newsletter announcement, as well as posting on Discord.
